Nature Morte, with gallery spaces in New Delhi and Mumbai, is pleased to be participating in the Armory Show in New York in 2024. Our booth will feature artists primarily from India, but also artists of the Indian diaspora and those who have been influenced by Indian culture. 

Most of the works are rooted in their use of rather unconventional materials, the imagery and compositions resulting from investigations by the artists into the materials themselves. Color is also a predominant element in many of the works, whether amplified or subtle, no surprise as it is one of the main characteristics of India usually cited by visitors. The informed viewer will be able to discern the influence of a number of styles of Western Modern Art (such as Futurism, Op, Color Field, Arte Povera) being fused with distinctly Indian idioms (such as Tantra, textile traditions, and indigenous historical painting styles).
