Drawing inspiration from Calvino's visionary narrative, "Parallel Cities" serves as a stage to the intricate intersections of urban life, personal narratives, and the collective human experience. Each artist featured in this exhibition offers a unique perspective, weaving together diverse mediums and conceptual frameworks to invite viewers into a kaleidoscopic exploration of the human condition.

"Parallel Cities" aims to evoke introspection and contemplation, encouraging visitors to delve into the intricacies of their own stories and the shared narratives that bind communities together, while accompanying the solitude of each individual. Reimagining the urban landscape through the poetical and passionate works resonating with each other: feelings, emotions and detached observations collapse into a receptive state of mind. The selected works offer a glimpse into parallel dimensions of existence, inviting audiences to witness the myriad stories and identities that coalesce within the intricate tapestry of our cities, whether real or imagined.

Cities are made of multiple crises concerning the movement and existence of people across countries, nations, territories and borders, which reflect the perils and pitfalls of language, translation and ethnicity, expressing differences and disparities conditioned by identity, nationality, race, gender, sexuality, wealth, and freedom. Artists who are themselves foreigners, immigrants, expatriates, diaspora, émigrés, and refugees, as well as those who are outsiders in other senses, such as queer artists and folk or outsider artists.
